The SKINETTA series banding machines are designed for tightly wrapping individual products or multiple products with polyethylene film (banding). Unlike shrink wrapping machines, the wrapping film is pulled tightly around the pack before sealing. This tensioning is the main advantage of the process, resulting in up to 20% lower film consumption.

A special advantage of the patented SKINETTA tensioning system is the infinitely variable, precise adjustability.

Sealing (welding) of the film takes place in a minimal space, resulting in a clean seal seam with very small film overlaps. By optionally adding a SKINETTAther or SKINETTAshrink heat tunnel and using a sufficiently wide film, any film overhang extending beyond the pack can be shrunk to the sides. This additional step further stabilizes the package and prevents the lateral escape of single products in grouped packs. Complete closure of the packs by top sealing, bottom sealing, and side folding is possible with additional equipment.

The SKINETTA banding machine range includes six basic models for film widths of 25 mm, 200 mm, 290 mm, 440 mm, 590 mm, 790 mm, and 1250 mm. To increase throughput, two- to four-lane (multi-lane) systems are manufactured in addition to single-lane versions. In the SK series (semi-automatic), the operator groups the products on the machine table. The insertion into the film and the following banding process are activated via foot switch or two-hand control. Later conversion to fully automatic operation is possible (except for the SK 200 type). In the ASK series (fully automatic), products are automatically fed, grouped, and banded by appropriate auxiliary systems. A modular system of feeding, grouping, forming, and special devices—based on over 20 years of experience—enables adaptation to a wide range of customer requirements with proven standard components.
