Machine Condition:
The feed bunker with bag opener was in operation at a major recycling company, where recyclables from yellow bags or commercial waste were loaded into the bunker using wheel loaders, the bags were opened by the bag opener, and the recyclables were dosed and conveyed to a sorting plant or the commercial waste for further processing. The system operated flawlessly until it was dismantled and was replaced with a larger unit with higher throughput. The machine was disassembled into components in our workshop, partially overhauled, reassembled, and tested in running operation.

The following refurbishment works have been carried out and the following spare parts have been replaced:
- Disassembly of the feed bunker and bag opener into individual components. Cleaning, partial sandblasting, priming, and painting of the steel parts.
- Various wear and cover plates were newly fabricated and installed.
- Removal of worn ends (approx. 40 cbm) of the moving floor tubes. Welding of new tubes and smoothing of the moving floor tubes.
- Replacement of all sliding plastic plates for the hydraulic moving floor.
- Disassembly of the hydraulic unit from the moving floor, complete draining of the hydraulic oil tank, replacement of oil filters, refilling with new hydraulic oil.
- Replacement of all three hydraulic blocks, all valves, oil sight glass, and all hydraulic hoses from the hydraulic unit.
- All three hydraulic cylinders on the moving floor received new seal kits and hydraulic hoses.
- All six end switches (proximity sensors) on the moving floor were renewed.
- The conveyor chains on the left and right of the scraper conveyor were renewed.
- Seven carrier strips of the scraper conveyor were renewed.
- The drive motor of the bag opener blades was renewed.
- All nine pneumatic cylinders for the pressure pipes were renewed. All pneumatic lines and fittings were replaced.
- All sliding plastic plates for the hydraulic adjustment of the bag opener were replaced. The bag opener can be moved in depth, allowing the system to also be used for commercial or residual waste without employing the bag opener.
- Side impact protection panels were renewed on both sides.
- Various wear parts of the bag opener were replaced.
- The entire system was electrically rewired and connected.
- The control system in the control cabinet was retrofitted by BRT Hartner to autonomous single control operation and the standard program reloaded to the control unit.
- The system was commissioned and tested by BRT Hartner; see the function video.
